Description
The Cherokee Group of the Tennessee Chapter of the Sierra Club represents Bledsoe, Bradley, Franklin, Hamilton, Marion, Meigs, McMinn, Polk, Rhea and Sequatchie counties in Southeast Tennessee.
Since 1892, the Sierra Club has been working to protect communities, wild places, and the planet itself. We are the oldest, largest, and most influential grassroots environmental organization in the United States.
Mission Statement:
To explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the earth;
To practice and promote the responsible use of the earth’s ecosystems and resources;
To educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment; and to use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.
